Meet Malou

Malou has always been drawn to the world of law, and as a student assistant in Banking and Finance, she has the perfect opportunity to immerse herself in complex legal matters.

"I’ve always been fascinated by law," says Malou, emphasizing that the complexity and dynamism of banking and finance are key drivers behind her passion for the field.

"Banking and finance are exciting fields because the sector is constantly evolving. The legislation is complex and ever-changing, which means there’s always something new to learn and explore," she explains. Malou finds it both challenging and rewarding to dive into capital markets and the regulatory frameworks that shape financial institutions.

As part of her work in Banking and Finance, Malou also contributes to writing articles on legal and financial topics, allowing her to explore details and uncover what specific concepts and regulations mean in practice.

"Our practice publishes a lot of articles for clients and the industry, and I often assist with writing and researching legal frameworks across different areas," she shares.

It is particularly the in-depth tasks that require legal research that Malou enjoys most. She appreciates the opportunity to analyse legal nuances and find answers to complex questions:

"What I’m most passionate about is helping to clarify the legal position on a subject. I love diving into the details and figuring out what the law says in specific situations," she says.

Balancing both work and studies, the flexibility within Malou’s team plays a crucial role in her daily life.

"I have a really great team where I can plan my office hours and adjust them around my studies. That means a lot to me," she explains.

The collaboration and support from colleagues are also something Malou values highly. She experiences a culture where everyone is willing to help:

"There’s great teamwork in the team, and my colleagues are always ready to assist — even when they’re busy," she concludes.
